Hey everyone! It’s your favorite... Elder McKenna! I hope yall had a great week and are staying safe and healthy! This week was super fun!
We got our first dose of the physer vaccine! It wasn’t bad at all. My arm was a little bit sore and the day after I had a little head ache but that’s it! The beginning of this week we had a family night with Alexi and the Gomez family! It was awesome!! We went crabbing, which is basically putting tieing a chicken leg to 15-20 foot string and then pulling it out when you feel something tug. It was so fun and then we saw a little baby gator! We caught like 12 crabs and then took them back home in a bucket and then put them in our tub for a sec then boiled them up! yum yum. We also got to go do some service in the promised land out in winnie! We cleaned out a barn and then played with some farm animals!
Yuli! She’s so prepared to be baptized! She came to church yesterday and she’s basically a member. We have the second hour class of church in person and she came to that before sacrament and made a comment like 3 times! People asked us after if she was a member so that just tells you how awesome she is! We still don’t have much contact with her but we try and send her something to read in the Book of Mormon every night. It’s so cool to see how much she has progressed from my time being here. She’s been taught since like last august and went to church twice last year. This year she has been like 10-15 times, and tries to come as much as she can. It’s been so cool to see her progress and come as far as she has. She’s a great example for me and has shown me how important it is to teach to peoples needs.
I went on an exchange with Elder Westover and we went and had a lesson with mercedes! It was the longest I’ve talked with this lady. An hour and a half! It was a super good lesson, she’s been struggling with some stuff and then we were able to give her a priesthood blessing. Hopefully she can feel better and things will keep progressing with her! Keep her in your prayers! We went to Burger King to get a shake like we had our last exchange. After eating out shakes we both said that it had like burned our throats drinking that. Idk what happened but our stomachs were churning all night hahahah.
Spiritual thought this week I watched a video on Gospel Library and I loved it! I learned that life isn’t about doing things perfect its about doing them intentionally. And even if you fail to not give up and to keep pushing, keep trying, and help others along the way! Something I’ve realized I do is overload myself with things to do. I’m trying to do one thing at a time, relaxing, and trying to realize the Lord is here to help me along the way! Choosing to act in faith, relying on Heavenly Father, and loving everyone for who they are is what I’m gonna be working on this next week and I invite you all to do the same! Love you all and have a great week and stay safe as always!
