Hey everyone!! Sorry it’s been so long! I haven’t had much time to write an email but hey I’m doing it now! These past few weeks have been so much fun but… I’ve for sure had my ups and downs.
I gave another talk in church last week. That went super good! My spanish is for sure getting better. I talked about personal revelation.
We have been able to do a lot of service these past few weeks! We helped someone move, did yard work, and went to a food pantry! The food pantry was so fun and I was the “Doorman” so I would get their names and give them the food! It was a super cool experience getting to talk to them and see the happiness on their faces when they got the food. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve others just like the Savior did! Learning spanish is awesome! Some people in the line only spoke spanish so I got to talk to them which was super cool because they seemed to be impressed with my spanish jajaja.
We are also in charge of an english connect class! That’s a lot of fun, I had to translate for the teachers that came because they only knew english so it was rough hahah. We got to work one on one with some of the people and it’s so cool to see how fast they progress!
In the midst of all this we had been put in quarantine twice! I’m in an apartment with 4 elders and one of them got sick. So we quarantined for 7 days. It wasn’t covid, strep, or the flu. We got out of quarantine and then I started feeling sick and then I couldn’t taste so we went back into quarantine! I could but I couldn’t like I literally ate straight garlic and it didn’t even phase me hahaha. But two days later I got my taste back so we think it was just because of allergies. So we got out after a couple days.
This week on Friday we had 6 lessons and 2 news! Every lesson went super well and everyone still seems to be progressing! We have been getting to work in this area and it’s such a cool area! We just started teaching the coolest little family from the Dominican Republic! They reached out to us and asked if we could get them a Bible! So we have had a few lessons with them and it’s been great!
This past week was super awesome!! I had time to kinda reflect and ponder about some stuff and quite literally this is the happiest I’ve ever been. My high school experience was so much fun, I was always laughing, and having a great time with my friends. But when I look back I think like yeah I was happy but was I actually truly happy? No. Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me so much joy! I love the Gospel and I LOVE being a missionary!!!
While reading in Jacob 7 I read a verse that stood out to me that says “And I said unto him: What am I that I should tempt God to show unto thee a sign in the thing which thou knowest to be true?...” That part of the verse I love because sometimes I catch myself praying to know if some things are true when I already know it to be true! So that was just my little reassurance to trust in the Lord!
