The Greatest Possession...

Hello everyone! You all should be very proud of me because how much more I've been writing my emails hahaha. This week was very spiritually draining for me but it was a great week of learning!

To start of I want to talk about the people we are teaching, Daniela is amazing and had her baptism scheduled for this last Saturday. It didn't happen, she said she wants more time to think about about she really wants. That was a bullet to my chest but I know she will be baptized! Jose Juan! His phone is broken and that's the only way we have communication with him. He has a baptism scheduled for the 23rd so hopefully everything will be ok with him. We invited Maria to be baptized and she said she can't, she knows what we are sharing is true but can't change her religion because she doesn't want to "betray" what her parents and grandparents have taught her.  I know with more time she will make the decision to be baptized. We have been talking with someone name Helena as well! She has a lot of difficulties in her life but she has a lot of faith, we invited her to be baptized after teaching only the plan of salvation for Nov 6th! She has a child with autism that is super aggressive. They came to church and it was sweet! The kid loved it but towards the end got super angry and took off all his clothes and started running around the chapel naked but everything was good and Helena felted loved so that's all that matters!! Last week we had some very spiritual lessons with people that needed God's hand in their lives. We shared great uplifting messages, they seem super promising in wanting to learn more and then we never hear back from them it's been super sad. We have been trying to work with a part member fam where the dad (Luis) isn't baptized and hasn't made the desicion to be baptized for over 30 years but knows everything about the church. I'm just now mentioning him because we finally had a lesson with them. I think this is one of the families that had been offended by the missionaries before hand because they  completely ignored us the first time I saw them, we would send texts wishing them a great day and they wouldn't ever respond but now we are having progress with Him! Something else I learned this week is you can almost call every single person in your area book in one day and have no success. I learned that you need to plan with the spirit, with a purpose, people in specific you need to contact that day, and that's how you see miracles in your area.

I was reading a talk from this last conference from Elder Holland "The greatest possession" and he talked about Mark 10 and the young rich ruler. "And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" And Jesus proceeds to tell him to sell all that he has, give to the poor, take up the cross, and follow Him. I was thinking about this scripture a lot and how we can help Luis to be baptized. At times I think we are all like the young rich ruler, we have the right intentions but lack the action behind our intentions. He goes on to say "Come unto your Savior. Come completely and wholeheartedly. Take up your cross, however heavy it may be, and follow Him.” I've learned the more diligent I am in doing this, and the more effort I give serving the Lord is when I truly feel and see the love that God has for others and me! And that is "the greatest possession" you can have. The love of God in your life!

Love you all have a great week!! Sorry not a lot of pics this week!

The Bitter Cup...

Hola Hola! It's been a great week to say the least here in the great town of San Luis Potosí!  We saw some crazy sweet miracles this week! I hope and pray all of you are doing great!

To start off we put Daniela and Jose Juan on date this week!!! Milagros!! Daniela is for the 16th and José is for the 23rd! I ask you all to please keep them in your prayers and that they can be prepared to enter the waters of baptism. We found 6 amazing new people to teach this week! I want to share a very cool experience with yall. So back in Texas there was a stake president in my last area who shared an experience that on his mission he fasted to find someone to be baptized and that day someone walked into the church and wanted to be taught and was baptized! I took this to test here last Sunday. No one walked into the church or nothing on Sunday. Monday came around and still nothing happened. But Tuesday!!! We didn't have anyone walk into the church but we made a call to Maria. She hadn't had contact for probably the last 5 times we called, we called, she didn't answer so we dropped her in our area book. Later that night she called us back!! We shared a great message and set up another lesson. We have met with her almost everyday this last week and and didn't realize it until last night but she's the one! She has loved everything! We shared the restoration and plan of salvation, and is so prepared to be baptized! Sunday we taught her the restoration, she loved it all and after we invited her to church and of course she accepted. We were about to say goodbye and she was like wait when can you guys call me again?!?? I felt like an idiot when she said that hahaha but it just shows how awesome she is! We have a lesson tonight with her and are going to extend a date so please pray for her!! I didn't realize it until now but I know she's the one, the one I fasted for, the one the Lord has placed in our path to receive the blessing of the restored gospel!

The work is a grind. The progress in our area is amazing! I love being a missionary, there's nothing better! I want to share a quote with you that says " If the bitter cup does not pass, drink it and be strong trusting in better days to come" it's pretty straight forward I don't know who it's from but I can definitely say I've had my difficulties here in Mexico but I know God's plan is perfect and we are going to have difficulties here on this earth but it's how we can learn and progress, to help others, and become more like our Heavenly Parents! This reminded me of the talk in conference by budge, he said become someone for the Lord, the Lord asks we have charity for all! I don't know what this song is called but there's a part of a song I want to share with you that says "I will share my light, because I know it is right" I love this because that's something the Lord asks of us, to give our time to bless and help others! I'm grateful for every single one of you!
Love you all and have a great week!!

Hijos De Dios...

Hola hola!! Hope everyone is doing great! We just had transfers here and all the 6 elders in the district are staying! It was a great week especially with conference, it's crazy how it's already October!!!!

I'll start off by talking about how much fun this week was with teaching some of our friends! Daniela is amazing, she watched all 4 sessions of conference and loved it all and basically told us she felt connected, doesnt feel judged, and that the people sharing have a truth that they want to share through their experiences. She felt the spirit super strong and we are hopefully going to put her on date on Tuesday!! Keep her in your prayers porfavor!! José Juan! He's doing good, he loved church but then went to his church with the BoM and his pastor told him he can't read that. But we talked to him about everything and he's back on track!  We are teaching 3 Daniela's rn so I'll just talk about the one who is progressing the most! We have some other people who are progressing and we found 7 new people to teach! And finally my boy Arturo was baptized yesterday!!!! I got to watch over zoom and it was so cool to see how happy he was after being baptized!!

Some fun experiences I had this week-
It rained a ton, not as much as Texas but they don't have any sort of good drainage here so the streets flooded with sewer water which is straight poop water for those of you who don't know hahahah. And we had a lesson at the church with Daniela so we were straight up just walking through a foot of poop water half the time there. To say the least we smelt pretty bad when we arrived to the church and
somehow we don't have water again hahah.

I loved this conference, it was a little bit harder to pay attention because it was in Spanish but I loved the talk from something Gilbert in the first session. I felt like that session was all about love! He talked about divine potential and how we are all in different parts of our life. To start with what you have and work from there. He talked about how Christ took upon our difficulties and made me think about what I can do to show love towards others. I was thinking about that and then he said the Lord will help you more than you can help yourself. So I'm relying on the Lord and his example he gave us when He was here in the earth. Everything he did was motivated by love, he was the perfect example to follow. I've truly learned here in Mexico how different people are and how they all have their own experiences and come from different places and have different backgrounds then me. And that I need to love them no matter what, we are all God's children and have divine potential to become like him!

This week was great! I hope you all enjoyed the Conference and learned something new! Love you all, reach out to me I'd love to hear from you guys:)

Some photos from the gopro and this week!
