Wow! These past three weeks have been so awesome but also this last was a little rough. But they have just been filled with so much love and gratitude! We got to do a lot of sweet things this week and the work keeps getting better and better. Today is transfers and I’m actually staying here in beautiful Atascocita/Greens Bayou Texas!
Last pday we gotta go play paintball it was so sick!! I didn’t think I would have ever been able to play as a missionary but President said we could!
The moment you’ve all been waiting for… Darwin! Did he make his baptismal date? No… BUT he is awesome and will be baptized soon! Kind of a crazy week for him. The day before his interview he had to go to the hospital. He had two super bad ear infections and couldn’t walk or drive for a couple of days. Then two days later he gets in a car crash. And while all of this is happening his daughter he hasn’t seen in 3 years comes to finally visit him but they couldn’t do anything fun because he was sick. Then to top it all off, his roommate got caught with drugs and they were telling Darwin if he didn’t do anything about it he was gonna get in trouble. He has been very angry at God this week and stopped reading the scriptures and stopped praying. I was on an exchange with one of the Zone leaders and we went over to see him that day. It was a very spiritual lesson and helped Darwin feel God’s love again in his life. So we’ve seen him a few times since then and he’s been doing better! So just keep him in your prayers!
With the other people we’ve been teaching its been crazy. I don’t understand but like back to back to back lessons we were thanked for everything we do and like idk this entire last week I’ve just seen people giving so much gratitude. So I guess that’s something I can do better on! In a devotional we recently watched as a mission Elder Bednar said “That charity has a staining power” and that’s so true!! I have seen that so much in my mission and as I’ve looked for opportunities to serve others! He also talked about “when you love someone you don’t give up on them, keep trying and trust in the Lord.” This transfer, I’ve been reflecting a lot about my mission and how I want to become closer to my Heavenly Father and this quote helped me a lot and helped me realize that Heavenly Father isn’t giving up on me ever, so why give up on Him or the people I’m teaching and to just keep trying my best!
I hope you guys all had a great 4th of July! Stay safe and have a great week!
